My first 3 x 20 training match!!!!

Yes I know, shocking!!! Dave shooting 3P, it had to happen sooner or later i guess!! I've probably been training for about a month or so now and decided it was time to put it all together into a 3 x 20 match to see where i am!! The answer, nowhere fantastic!!! but I got to start somewhere.

I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking now...

Prone = 196
Standing = 170
Kneeling = 181

For an outstanding PB total = 547 !!!! :)

Standing...

Nice side view
Sort of behind view!

Kneeling..... (oww)

Kneeling from the side
From behind
the painfull bit i guess!!!

Well, thats all for now. I'm planning on shooting at least one 3x20 match during the national meeting coming up soon. Really hoping to be able to beat my PB!!!

World Cup Bankok

Hey there guys. Sorry no picture updayes at the moment, they will have to be added later when I get back to the UK. This is the first time me and Neil ahve ben onlinr since we left Aus!!

Training went well for all of us and thankfully all three of us are through to the next round for qualification at 8 am tommorow.
Mike - 595 relay 1
Dave - 594 relay 1
Neil - 589 relay 2
I think we had the slightly easier relay, more higher scores and a certain current Olympic champion went clean shooting a "perfect" 600!!

Not much else to report at the moment other than a note about the weather. I hate this place!!! Its Hot. Its Humid (very humid). It smells bad. It rains a lot (heavy rain). did I mention Hot and Humid.... People back home in the UK, please do not complain about the weather so much. You don't realise how good it really is sometimes, At least ou can take a deep breath and feel vagually refreshed. If you try that shit here you will just cough up your lungs!!

As you can tell I'm looking forward to getting home and chillin for a few days before goingaway training once again.

Hope you are all well and look forward to catching up soon.

Sydney International Shooting Center, the tour..

I thought I would try and do a litle bit of a virtual tour of the range complex here in sydney. Not sure how well this is going to tern out as the complex is massive!! but here we go.....

Ok here is the main central corridor running the entire length at the back of the range. A, B, and C will be explained shortly.Here you can see the way the ranges were labelled.

Range "A" The 10 Metre air range.
Range "B" The 25 metre Pistol gallery
Range "C" The 50 Metre smallbore range
This also runs of from the central walkway and is the general meeting / reception area.
The multi purpose finals only hall. The wooden door can open and close and the range can be outfitted for all the various disciplines the other ranges have to offer. pretty cool..

Neil "performing" on the range.
Mr. Babb showing us how its done..
Hey, look! Even i've been shooting!!
Shooters eye view

And thats all for now folks!!! Training again in the morning, so of to bed now.

Sydney Baby, Yeah!!!!!

Greeting from the other side of the world!!! Sydney, the latest stop on my world domination tour! Bugger the commentry, here are some pics....

The sydney Opera house, nice I guess?Same thing, different angle!!!

Sydney harbour bridge. Pretty cool architecture!Same bridge, but with one of the old ferries passing.

We have done some shooting also! We shot in the Aus cup on saterday with varying success! Mike shot a good match (596) and then a damn fine final (104.6) to win the competition! Neil and myself were not quite so on form, but at least satisfied with parts of the shoot, ie. the end and then the bar.

The medalists.Neil, the semi un-official photographer. (nice pins mate)

Thats all for now folks, we are up early in the morning for a days training. speak soon guys..

World Cup USA - Fort Benning

Greetings fellow humans from the U S of A, and full of holes they are!! Well so far the weather has been great, making us feel really at home by raining and some thunder storms - Joy! As you've already guessed, I have some internet access, so realistically there are few excusses for me not to keep reasonably up to date.

We all arrived safe and sound, though a little tired. We trained yesterday for a short while and were all very satisfied. really looking forward to the main event.

Currently hanging round the hotel whilst the flat tire on the van is sorted. joy

The rangeAgain its pretty big, 80 lanes?

Each lane has second monitor for public viewing, and a 10 shot LED board, for quick view of each score! NICE

Well thats all for now, not to much I know but its a start. We are hoping to go to Atlanta for a day at some time so hopefully will get some more decent pics then!!
Meanwhile enjoy and keep well. see / speak soon.
Dave :)
